At the Cooperativa Lo Vilot Farm Brewery we grow and produce our own organic ingredients to be able to create the different varieties of craft beer. Both the fields for growing and the brewery for producing craft beer are located situated in village of Almacelles. In the case of using fruits, they are also come from km 0. Full circle beer project.
The majority of the ingredients are grown by us ourselves on our own fields. All our fields are located in the Comarca del Segrià and are registered with the CCPAE under the number CA-3938 -PE. In addition to they are authorised as a direct sale and local sale on a short circuit.
Today, we have 10.000 hop plants distributed over 4.5 hectares with 6 different varieties and 10 hectares of two , wheat and rye).
Once the harvest is complete, these cereals are processed so that they can be used in beer production (pelletising the hops and malting the cereals).
Our brewery house is located in the village of Almacelles, in the basement of No. 19 of St Joseph Street.
This house is the ancestral home of our great-great-grandparents, a house that dates from the mid-19th century and which we renovated in 2015 to house the beer brewery.
At the brewery, we produce up to 2000 litres of craft beer per batch, with an annual production of around 50,000 litres.
Among the varieties of beer we produce are wheat beers, brown ales, blondes, aromatic beers, stouts, sours, fruit beers, barrel-aged (liqueur and wine), mixed-fermentation and spontaneously fermented beers… As a result, we have more than 20 varieties of beer produced. Most of the beers are brewed entirely by us, but in some cases there are also collaborations between breweries.
