At Cervesa lo Vilot, we cultivate and produce our own organic ingredients to be able to create the different varieties of craft beer. The fields of crops and the brewery that produces the craft beer are in the town of Almacelles in the Segrià comarca. If we use fruit, it is also locally sourced.
Our own harvest
We grow most of the ingredients ourselves in our own fields, and all our land is in the Segrià comarca and registered with the CCPAE as number CA-03938-PE and authorised for the sale of locally-sourced products through an intermediary.
Hops and Barley
At present, we have 4,000 hop plants distributed over two hectares with 4 different varieties, and 15 hectares of cereal (two-row barley, wheat and rye). Once harvested, these ingredients are processed so that they can be used to produce beer (processing hops and cereal malting).
Our brewery is in the town of Almacelles, on the ground floor of 19 C/ Sant Josep. This house is the family home of our great-great-grandparents, a house that dates back from the mid-19th century and which we reformed in 2015 to include the brewery.
At the brewery, we produce up to 1,500 litres of craft beer per harvest with an annual production of some 50,000 litres. The varieties of beers we produce include wheat, brown ale, pale ale, aromatic, stout, with fruits, sour and so on. We produce more than 20 varieties of beer, most of them completely made by us, but in some cases in collaboration with other breweries.
